One of the marks of our De la Salle Blackfeet School is its dedication to the teaching of life skills that will develop our students into strong Christian men and women.  One of these skills is the virtue of silence.  This means speaking when one has something valuable to say, if not be silent, especially in the classroom.  We are talking about self control.  

The students you see here represent members from each of our classes.  They were honored at the Thursday morning mass for achieving the award of demonstrating the true virtue of silence.  They succeeded in practicing the virtue of silence and were nominated by their respective teachers to receive this award.

I am, by writing this column, honoring the insight of giving the award.  It is a great idea that promotes values that are very important  to Catholic education.   Congratulations DLSB!
